A 15 year-old male in Antigua has appeared before a
Magistrate's Court in that island, to face the charge of
rape. The youth has been charged with having sexual
intercourse with a 13-year-old teen without her consent in
February. He was not required to enter plea, was
granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety and is
scheduled to return to court for his trial on 24 July.
The conditions of his bail include:
- He must continue to reside with his mother, and he
must not change his address without notifying the court
or the police 72 hours prior to relocation.
- He must not be outside of his mother’s house after 8
p.m.
