The Caribbean company will host for the first time ever the

weekly for the entirety of the Digicel Home Series; the
Digicel Kids at Cricket programme; a brand new interactive
cricket website at www.digicelcricket.com; and a
comprehensive marketing and advertising campaign to raise
awareness and support for the Digicel Home Series 2008.
According to Digicel Group CEO, Colm Delves, "We are very
excited about our programme of events for the Digicel Home
Series 2008 and the terrific partnerships we have in place.
From the onset, Digicel wants to bring the fans closer to
the game and to the players as part of our efforts to
continue driving passion in the game of cricket.
"While we are focused on providing the necessary resources
to help grow West Indies cricket to its true potential we
also want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to
take part in and enjoy the Digicel Home Series as our team
takes on Sri Lanka and Australia." Former cricketer, Richie
Richardson, joins the Digicel Girls at the launch of the
Digicel Home Series 2008 in Sabina Park, Jamaica, on Tuesday
evening.
Speaking from Sabina Park, WICB Corporate Secretary, Tony
Deyal, said "The WICB has approved a draft strategic plan
for 2008 - 2012. Our goal is to regain the pinnacle of world
cricket by 2012 and to do that we need all the help and
support we can get and all the sponsors. Also we have a new
team management and we have a new approach, the purpose of
all this is to develop a positive culture within the team as
well as the bench strength in order to achieve our goal.
"Digicel has demonstrated its willingness to be a partner
and supporter of West Indies cricket and is part of the
future of West Indies cricket. We expect the partnership to
be vital as we seek once more to be a major player in world
cricket."
For the cricketers, Digicel is committed to supporting and
incentivising their performance and further their growth. As
well as an incentive programme, Digicel will again this year
be awarding the 'Man of the Match' and 'Man of the Series'
awards at the end of each Digicel ODI's and Digicel Test
match's.
The Digicel Home Series 2008 kicks off in Guyana on 22

commit US$20 million until 2012 as well as introducing
additional win bonuses for the team.
