March 03, 2008: According to an urgent release
reaching our news desk, the organizers of the Marlin Awards
- the regions premier Gospel Music Festival / Awards
ceremony, have announced a change in this year's event
originally scheduled for July 24-27, 2008. The new dates are
now slated to be October 23-26, 2008 with the Marlin Awards
set for Sunday October 26. All events will be held in
Nassau, Bahamas.
In the communication, President Kevin Harris apologized
for the inconvenience but said "the decision was made
with the best interest of the artist and media in mind".
"One major benefit of this date change is that it will
allow us to offer very good hotel accommodations and rates.
We are finalizing an arrangement with a major flag ship
resort here in the Bahamas who have just completed major
renovations and are now in a position to offer first class
accommodations for a very reasonable and affordable rate for
our Marlin Weekend delegates." said Harris. |
