earthquake hits Eastern Caribbean
Wednesday,
06 February 2008: According to the University of the
West Indies Seismic Unit at the St Augustine Campus in
Trinidad and Tobago, an earthquake measuring 4.4 (initially
reported as 4.6) on the Richter scale occurred
off Martinique on Wednesday afternoon. The preliminary
location of the quake was given as 14.95°N 60.54°W at a
depth of 20km and is shown in the map above. It was felt in
St. Lucia, Antigua and Scotts Head, Dominica.
