17,2007: Media in Canada has reported that
Karla Homolka, a notorious murderer who with her husband
Paul Bernardo, raped and murdered three young girls
including her own teenage sister, has moved to the
Caribbean.
Homolka served 12 years (1993 - 2005) for manslaughter in
the killings in return for testifying against Bernardo, and
now is free, living under a new name.
Her plea-bargain in `1993, provoked outrage after videotapes
of the crimes surfaced suggesting she was more a willing
participant and less a victim of Mr. Bernardo.
Tired of being hounded by the media in Canada, the convicted
killer has apparently headed to the Caribbean.
It is believed that Ms. Homolka left the
Montreal area with her one-year-old son and second husband,
Thierry Bordelais for the Caribbean - island not specified.
Mr. Bordelais is believed to be originally from the
Caribbean.
Canadian French-language television network TVA reported
she will try to obtain citizenship in her new country of
residence, which is unknown, except that it is in the
Antilles. |
