| Two police officers
in Dominica were arrested and charged with "murder" on
Monday. Officer Carlton Williams and special constable
DETHROS Darroux were charged nine days after shooting
a man on the Carib Territory, while on duty.
"Its a sad day for police" said Chairman of the Police
Welfare Association inspector John David
“We are not saying we are above the law however what we
saying is why the charge of murder?”
“When we leave for duty we do not go with the intention of
killing anyone, during the execution of our duty somebody
may get killed. It may be accidental or you may want to say
a use of excessive force but where is the malice or the
intention to kill?” David told reporters. |
