The
11-member jury ended their deliberations on Wednesday, one
week after the 26 day inquest ended. After sorting through
the sometimes conflicting testimony of different experts and
other evidence presented, the jury returned an open
verdict late in the day. The open verdict means that the
jury was unable to state with certainty how the former
Pakistan coach died.Bob Woolmer, died in his hotel room
on the morning of March 18, one day after Pakistan suffered
a remarkable loss to Ireland at the 2007 World Cup fixture
at Sabina Park Jamaica. Dr. Ere
Seshaiah, the Jamaican government pathologist who conducted
the post mortem, declared that Woolmer was murdered but
three independent pathologists all concluded later that
Woolmer died due to natural causes. |
