FIRSTCARIBBEAN WINS 2 EUROMONEY AWARDS |
November 15,
2007: Bridgetown, Barbados, – FirstCaribbean has
won two “Best Bank” Awards from Euromoney magazine for its
operations in Jamaica and The Bahamas.
The Awards, bestowed on FirstCaribbean by Euromoney Latin
America, placed FirstCaribbean among leading banks in 20
countries across Latin America who were singled out for
honour.
According to Euromoney, the Awards “recognize institutions
and individuals that demonstrate leadership, innovation, and
momentum in the markets in which they excel.”
Clive Horwood, Euromoney’s editor, noted: “Picking the
outstanding financial institutions in the world over the
past 12 months has never been more difficult….. The firms
that stood out from the crowd were those that exhibited the
ability to innovate, react at speed and make best use of the
inherent strengths of their organisation.” |

FirstCaribbean’s
CEO, Charles Pink, has congratulated the two business units
for their most recent honours. He noted: “Our bank has
performed very strongly over the past year and we are
delighted that two of our units have been honoured in this
way. We are proud of the performance of all parts of our
business, but we would particularly like to pay tribute to
the teams in these two countries, on whom Euromoney has
bestowed this honour. Everyone there has contributed to the
success, no matter what role they play in the business. It’s
been a team effort, as it is in our teams across the
region”.
The two Awards from Euromoney bring to five the “Best Bank”
Awards for FirstCaribbean in 2007, following the Best Bank
Awards for Barbados and Jamaica won from Global Finance
magazine, and Deal of the Year 2007 Award from the Banker
magazine.
