RESORTS REPORTS INCREASED BUSINESS FROM EUROPE |
CASTRIES, St.
Lucia (November 8, 2007) – St. Lucia’s award-winning
boutique hotels – Coco Kreole and Coco Palm – will thank
suppliers in London next week for a 400% increase in
business from the British and wider European markets, the
hotels’ managing director Feolla Chastanet reports.
Heading to the United Kingdom this week with other hoteliers
and tourism officials to attend World Travel Market (WTM),
Chastanet reported that over the past 12 months, the UK and
European markets have yielded solid results for her
properties. |

“WTM gives us the
opportunity to meet and thank our suppliers for the numbers
they have produced as well as to get a pulse on what the
market holds for the future,” said Chastanet, who will be
backed up in London by her Sales and Marketing Manager,
Fenna Williams.
She said current exchange rates make St. Lucia an attractive
proposition for the European visitor, and she looked forward
to talking with tour operators about confirming rates for
2009.
This will be Chastanet’s 20th consecutive year attending the
prestigious trade show and her third year carrying the Coco
Resorts banner.
Staged annually in London under one roof, World Travel
Market is a must-attend, business-to-business exhibition.
WTM provides a unique opportunity for the whole global
travel trade industry to meet, network, negotiate, conduct
business and stay abreast with the latest developments in
the travel industry.
Chastanet said the November 12 to 15 London trade show is
not limited to meeting British partners. It attracts
worldwide buyers and sellers from every sector of the
industry.
Before WTM, Coco Resorts takes part in the St. Lucia Tourist
Board’s Ireland trade show in Dublin as the Celtic Tiger has
been one of the shining stars in the European market.
“We have long felt an affinity with the Irish who have come
to stay with us and felt at home. The fact that they are
also big spenders is another bonus,” Chastanet noted.
Expedia.com's exclusive Insiders’ Select list has positioned
St. Lucia's Coco Palm as one of the best hotels in the
world. The four-star Coco Resorts property, recognized for
consistently delivering excellent service and a great
overall experience, came in at 38th in the world and 4th in
the Caribbean among the online travel company’s top hotels
and resorts worldwide. Coco Kreole, its three-star sister
property, ranked 314 worldwide and 28th in the Caribbean. In
St. Lucia, Coco Palm and Coco Kreole rank number one and two
respectively. Coco Kreole was awarded the 2006 Crystal Award
winner of ‘Best Small Hotel’ in the Caribbean after just one
year of service.
