FIRSTCARIBBEAN TREASURY ANNOUNCES THREE NEW HIRES |
Bridgetown, Barbados, October 1, 2007 –
FirstCaribbean announced today the appointment of three new
hires to its Treasury Sales & Trading team. Ivan Petrozzi,
Renée Moore and Suzanne Seepersad are all seasoned
practitioners who have worked in regional and international
financial services organizations and bring varied
experiences to the business unit. They join FirstCaribbean
Treasury Sales & Trading team in Barbados, The Bahamas, and
Trinidad & Tobago respectively.
In commenting on the recent appointments, Pradip Chhavda,
Managing Director of Treasury Sales & Trading, stated “We
are expanding this area of our business as a direct response
to our customers’ needs. Our customers are also becoming
more and more sophisticated and they expect from their
banking service providers international levels of service.
We intend to meet and surpass their expectations and
recruiting professionals with the know-how and experience of
Ivan, Renee and Suzanne is all part of FirstCaribbean’s
strategy to achieve this.”
Ivan Petrozzi, Corporate Treasurer
 As
Corporate Treasurer, Ivan will develop and implement the
corporate policies to manage the liquidity and price risk
from the balance sheet for the Group. He will also be
responsible for the oversight and setting of Funds Transfer
Pricing Policy, maintaining adequate levels of Capital and
managing the offshore treasury for hard currencies.
Ivan’s banking career began in 1997 with Citibank in Peru.
He has held the positions of Regional Market Risk Manager
for Central America, the Caribbean and Andean countries,
based in Miami. He also served as Senior Vice President and
was in charge of the liquidity and risk management of an
Emerging Markets trading desk based in New York.
Ivan graduated “best of class” with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Accounting from the Universidad de Lima, Peru.
Ivan is based in Barbados.
Renée Moore - Country Treasurer
 Renée
has an extensive background in Treasury spanning more than
10 years. Prior to joining FirstCaribbean, she worked with
Citigroup in Trinidad and Tobago and in Nassau, The Bahamas.
During her assignment at Citigroup, she held the position of
Head of Sales and Trading for Citibank’s Corporate Bank.
Renée is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and holds a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Accounting from
the University of the West Indies. She also has a Diploma
and Certification in Business Administration.
As the Country Treasurer of The Bahamas, Renee is
responsible for managing the Bahamas balance sheet,
liquidity and foreign currency trading. Renee also has
responsibility for managing the Treasury Sales and Trading
business for The Turks & Caicos Islands, The Cayman Islands
and The British Virgin Islands. Renée will operate from
Nassau, The Bahamas
Suzanne Seepersad – Country Treasurer
 Suzanne
joined FirstCaribbean in July 2007 as Country Treasurer
based in Trinidad. She is responsible for developing and
marketing a range of banking and financial services products
offered by the Bank.
Suzanne has had 17 years working experience in the financial
sector of Trinidad & Tobago, having started her career in
1990 as an Economist at the Central Bank of Trinidad &
Tobago. She has held senior positions ranging from Head
Trader at First Citizens Bank Limited, Senior Dealer –
Foreign Exchange at RBTT and Assistance Vice President –
Treasury with Citibank in Trinidad & Tobago. She was also
responsible for developing the Treasury Sales & Trading
operations of one of Trinidad’s newest commercial bank.
Suzanne holds a First Class Honours Degree in Economics from
the University of the West Indies and is a qualified
chartered accountant (ACCA).
