CMC SECURES IAAF RIGHTS
TO BROADCAST OSAKA 08-10-2007 |
Bridgetown, Barbados, 08/10/2007 – The Caribbean
Media Corporation (CMC) and the IAAF will again renew their
partnership to offer regional television and radio stations
terrestrial broadcast coverage of the IAAF World
Championships in Athletics taking place in Osaka, Japan on
August 25 – September 2, 2007.
The terrestrial broadcast partnership, which originally
began in 2003, allows the region to take notice of our
Caribbean athletic stars, at their very best, compete
against international athletes in the world-renowned
sporting competition.
“Through CMC’s terrestrial coverage, which spans over 26
Caribbean territories, the IAAF is able to maximise the
potential reach of the globally distributed event,” said
Michael Whyte, the CMC’s Commercial & New Business
Development Manager. |

“In addition to the IAAF, the CMC will continue to embark
upon a number of broadcasting deals which will allow
regional stations to offer Caribbean communities world class
content.”
Aside from the radio and television terrestrial broadcast,
the CMC will also feature a number of sports highlights and
updates of the Osaka games via its 24-hour cable channel,
CaribVision, and its radio and television news programmes.
The region can tune into CMC’s radio news Headline News &
Sports and Caribbean Today, as well as its television news
programmes Caribbean Newsline and PrimeTime Caribbean for
the latest Osaka ’07 headlines.
