American Pilot escapes death in small aircraft crash in the Bahamas.

August 3, 2007: An American Pilot, Keith Graham, of Orlando, Florida narrowly escaped death Thursday morning after his small Piper 412 aircraft — registration N918SD — malfunctioned shortly after take off at an airport in North Eleuthera, Bahamas.
At around 11:00am, upon take-off, the pilot lost control of the aircraft and was forced to crash land it at the end of the runway. The number of passengers on board was not reported up to press time.

The crash came just three days after a Piper Aztec twin-engine Cessna crash-landed near Compass Point in New Providence and on the heels of the release of plans from the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation in the Bahamas that a crack down on small aircraft operators was in the works.

The crash resulted in the airport being closed for 3 hours.
