June 5, 2007: According to
published reports out of St. Kitts, numerous
gun-related violent crimes have occurred in that island in
the past week.
Tuesday
A young woman was robbed at gunpoint as she walked
through Independence Square.
Wednesday
- A Nevisian businessman was shot several times about
the body during a robbery attempt.
- A St. Peter’s woman was shot in the hip when a
masked gunman invaded her home.
Thursday
A Basseterre man was shot in the leg Thursday afternoon at
College Street. "
Friday
A young Basseterre man was walking along Cayon Street in Basseterre, when
a bullet fired from a vehicle struck him in his leg
Saturday
Patrick Mitcham of John Street, Newtown was shot while he
was on his way home from the Newtown football club’s
motorcade.
According to reports he was shot on the right shoulder, on
the right arm below the elbow and the other on the left arm
below the elbow.
