UK couple attacked and robbed in Antigua. |
May 23, 2007: Reports out of Antigua are that a UK
couple was brutally attacked and robbed around 3:00am in
their hotel room on Monday May, 21 by two men who broke into
their room as they slept peacefully.
The wife, in her 50's, was bound and gagged while the
husband also in his 50's was cruelly punched repeatedly in
the face.
The vacationers had reportedly gone to sleep that night with
their door open to alleviate the heat of the night.
The robbers were apparently unmasked and the only weapon may
have been a screw driver that one was carrying. They
made off with US$500, two wrist watches, a DVD player and a
cellular phone.
Further reports are that four people are in police custody
assisting with the investigations, but no one has been
charged for the robbery up to the time of going to press. |
