FNM wins elections in the Bahamas. |

3, 2007: The voting is over in the Bahamas and
unofficial results indicate that the opposition, Free
National Movement (FNM), led by former Prime Minister Hubert
Ingraham has secured a narrow victory in the 2007 National
Elections. Unofficial data suggests strongly that the
FNM won 23 of the 41seats with the incumbent Progressive
Liberal Party (PLP) winning 18 seats. Prime Minister
Christie conceded defeat in a phone call to the opposition
at 10:30pm, last night.

It's the first time in the history of Majority rule politics
in that archipelagic country that a party has been elected
to power with such a narrow majority.
