March 31,2007: Following the lead of Anguilla, Cayman
islands and the United Kingdom, the British Virgin Islands
has advised that Jamaican passport holders will be required
to have a VISA to visit that territory as of April 1, 2007.
In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign
Trade in Jamaica has stated that "Applying the principle of
reciprocity, the Government of Jamaica will, at a date to be
announced, require nationals of the British Virgin Islands
to acquire a visa to visit Jamaica".
Similar restrictions on Jamaicans also exists in Dutch St.
Maarten.
