Armed Men in Black - Again. |
March, 16, 2007: The description of criminals who
violently attacked a vacationing Canadian family in St.
Maarten matches that given of attackers in similar incidents
in recent weeks.
Police in that territory have confirmed the bandits who shot
a 15 year old boy and wounded his mother with a knife were
dressed in the familiar completely black attire. The
same description has been given for the perpetrators of at
least two other armed robberies in the past 3 weeks in St.
Maarten.
According to reported statements of the victims, the family
were walking a
Great Bay beach promenade in Philipsburg around 10:45pm on
Tuesday March 13, when they were surprised from
behind by two armed masked men dressed completely in black,
with their faces covered and caps on their head. The mother
was struck on the back of the head and cut with a knife
before her purse was snatched. Her son who resisted the
robbers was subsequently shot in the arm.
