Pack of attack dogs leave man fighting for his life in Nassau
March, 7, 2007: A pack of ferocious dogs, of unknown numbers viciously attack and
bite chunks of flesh out of a 23 year old man who is now hospitalized
fighting for his life. The pack including at least two pit bulls and one
Doberman Pinscher attacked the man as he walked through a neighborhood
in Nassau, Bahamas.
A neighbor hearing the terrified painful screams of the young man ran to
render assistance but was himself bitten several times. The would be
good Samaritan received several bites to his arms and legs and had to be
treated at the hospital before being released.
According to Executive
Director of the Humane Society Kevin Degenhard in Nassau, in an
interview reported in the Nassau Guardian, there are about
70,000 stray dogs in The Bahamas, most of which travel in packs.
In addition it is not uncommon to see attack dogs walking their owners
on public parks and streets throughout the capital. |
