St. Kitts & Nevis PM in Cuba
March 3, 2007:
Denzil Douglas, prime minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, began a two day
official visit to Cuba on March 2, 2007, to broaden collaboration between the two Caribbean
nations . The trip came on the heels of a visit
to Venezuela where he met with President Hugo Chavez to analyze aid
received from Caracas in the development of tourism and financial
service. One of the results of the Chavez-Douglas meeting was a housing
construction aid program and the training of young people in several
areas including carpentry and refrigeration.
In Cuba he is expected to
visit Cuban education centers and meet with Cuban officials in areas of
agriculture and human resources.

Part of the delegation accompanying the prime minister was the Minister
of Public Works, Utilities, Transport and Postal Services, (Earl Asim
Martin), Federal Cabinet Secretary (Joseph Edmeade), and Press Secretary
(Erasmus Williams).
