CARIBBEAN STAR AIRLINES ANNOUNCES CUTBACKS Staff to be reduced by 40% and all city ticket offices to closeeffective February 1, 2007 ST. JOHN'S, Antigua – (January 31, 2007) – Caribbean Star Airlines Ltd. has announced a new series of cutbacks, including staff reductions and the closure of all four of the airline's city ticket offices across the region. The changes will become effective as of tomorrow, February 1, 2007. Staff Reductions Caribbean Star trimmed its fleet by four aircraft on January 15, 2007 and reduced its flight operations to better correspond with the smaller fleet size. As a result, Caribbean Star will reduce its staff of 470 employees by a corresponding number – approximately 40%. The last day of employment for affected staff is January 31, 2007, though salaries will continue to be paid and benefits provided through the end of February 2007. City Ticket Office Closings Effective February 1, 2007 all Caribbean Star city ticket offices will close. Caribbean Star has a total of four city ticket offices – two in Antigua and one each in Barbados and St. Kitts.
