British Virgin Islands implements visa requirements for Jamaicans

10 2006 -following
the lead of Anguilla and other islands in the region the British Virgin
Islands will require Jamaicans have a VISA to enter the BVI as of April 1 2007.
According to the Chief Minister Dr. Orlando Smith, he had been inundated
with calls from locals about the need to take action against Jamaicans.
He said that while some were making positive contributions to the BVI,
they had committed most of the immigration offences from 2002-2006
The offences listed included overstaying and working illegally
Anguilla, St. Maarten and the Cayman Islands all currently have VISA
requirements for Jamaicans. |
