A Bermuda man,
George Lambert, believed lost at
sea, turned up safe on the Rocks at
Sandy Ground Anguilla over the weekend, about 3 weeks since
reportedly a merchant ship last saw his 26ft yacht,
Endurance II.
Mr. Lambert had been en route from
Bermuda to St. Vincent & The Grenadines to see his wife,
Brenda Adams, but had not turned up, causing his
family to report him missing.
An extensive search had been conducted
for him in an area spanning Puerto Rico in the South to New
York in the North by officials from
Bermuda Maritime Operations, the
US Coast Guard and Coast Guard services in the Region
without success. The search was abandoned last week after
two US Air Force , C-130 Hercules aircraft failed to
turn up any evidence of the missing man or his
vessel.
On Saturday May 23, 2009, Mr. Lambert
turned up on the North West Coast of Anguilla.
He had reportedly suffered engine failure
at sea, but had managed to reach the island under sail. |
