Mr
Alistair Harrison CVO will arrive in Anguilla on Sunday 19
April 2009 to take up his appointment as Governor. He will
be accompanied by his wife Sarah and their three children
Matilda (Tilly) aged 9, and twins Eliza and Ralph, aged 5.
Mr Harrison was previously scheduled to arrive in Anguilla
on 9 April but was delayed due to the sudden death of his
father.
The family will travel from Princess Julianna Airport in St
Maarten by Anguilla Air Services charter to Wallblake
Airport and be met by the Acting Governor, the Chief
Minister and the Commissioner of Police. Mr Harrison will be
sworn in as Governor at the House of Assembly at 10.00am on
Tuesday 21 April.
Mr Harrison has 30 years experience in the Foreign &
Commonwealth Office and has recently completed a three-year
appointment to the British High Commission in Lusaka, Zambia
as High Commissioner.
He has also spent time working in New York and Warsaw, as
well as Policy Adviser for the European Commission in
Brussels. Mr Harrison was most recently head of the Zimbabwe
Unit in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London.
