2008 Miss
Digicel Talented Teen competition scheduled for May 24.
(The Valley, Anguilla) In a press conference on Monday, May
5, 2008, Mr. Romere Kelsick, Vice Chairman of the Anguilla
Talented Teen Committee, announced the continuation of
Digicel's Platinum sponsorship for the 3rd consecutive year.
Digicel's executive, Mr. Colwayne Pickering expressed pride
in being able to showcase the people of the Caribbean.
The Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre will come alive once again
on Saturday, May 24 at 8pm, when 10 beautiful and talented
teens will grace the stage hailing from throughout the
Caribbean. Countries expected to be represented are,
Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, British Virgin Islands,
Curacao, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts, St. Maarten Neth.
Ant. and Trinidad & Tobago.
The girls are expected to arrive on island May 22 and stay
until May 25. They will be competing in five segments –
National Dress Costume, Promotional Speech, Talent, Evening
Wear and Question & Answer. Admission fee on May 24 will be
$12 US/$32 EC for adults and $8 US/$20 EC for children.
Prizes in the past have included Laptops, DVD home
entertainment systems, Perfume sets, Makeup kits, I-Pods and
more. This year's prize list is still being compiled, and
will include a new prize category for Ms. Punctual. Main
sponsors of the Event are Digicel as Platinum sponsor and
Government of Anguilla as Gold Sponsor. Other supporting
sponsors include Caribbean Commercial Bank and National Bank
of Anguilla.
