The Ministry of Social Development- Department of Youth and
Culture in collaboration with the OECS Secretariat is
encouraging all young persons between the ages of 15 and 24
to contribute to the writing of the OECS Human Development
Report for 2008, by participating in an essay writing
competition on the theme “Social and Economic Justice: What
it means to me”.
The writer of the best submission will be invited to the
launch of the report and their essay will be published in
the OECS Occasional Papers and posted on the OECS and UNDP
websites. All submissions must have the writer’s full name
and contact information and should be sent to:

RULES:
- All youth between the ages of 15 to 24 are eligible
to submit essays.
- All essays must be between 500 to 1500 words, typed,
double-line spacing.
- Names must not be written on the essay.
- Essays must be submitted with full name, address,
proof of age (copy of birth certificate,ID card, student
ID, etc.)
- Essays must reach the OECS Secretariat (by mail, fax
or email) no late than April 30th, 2008
