Anguilla) - Police had a busy period spanning April 2 thru
April 10, 2008. During this period there were several
reports of robbery, theft and burglary and no reports of any
arrests being made.
The Numbers
There were twenty one (21) crime reports recorded between
the 2nd April , 2008 and 10th April
2008. The offences included five (5) reports of burglary,
eleven (11) reports of theft, one (1) report of robbery, one
(1) report of possession of Cannabis, two (2) reports of
criminal damage and one (1) report of taking a vehicle
without the owner's consent.
The Details
The burglaries occurred at homes at Old Ta, Little Harbour,
South Hill, Stoney Ground, and Cove Road. The items reported
stolen were, two (2) digital cameras, and one (1)Nokia cell
phone, two(2) Gold wrist bands, one(1) video camera, one(1)
Gold necklace, one(1) Gold reversible pendant with a lion
head, one(1) Blue stone pendant, and one(1) Rose gold
necklace.
The theft cases occurred in the villages of Blowing
Point, Rey Hill, Stoney Ground, Wall Blake, West End and The
Valley. The items reported stolen were one(1) I pod,
three(3) cell phones (one Sony Erickson, one Nokia, and one
Motorola), one (1) Toshiba television with DVD player,
two(2) passports (one Anguillian and the other European) one
(1) Steel bending machine and Ten thousand dollars
EC($10,000.00EC).
In the criminal damages cases, damage was done to a
vehicle in which a window was broken and in the other case
damage was done to a number of surveying stakes.
The criminal investigation department (CID) say they are
presently undertaking inquiries into all of the crime
reports and so far there have been no arrests made.
Traffic Accident
During the period there were ten (10) traffic accidents
recorded. The accidents were categorized as nine (9) minor
and one (1) serious.
