National Creative Arts Association promotes national
identity among Anguilla's youth

The Anguilla National Creative Arts Association (ANCAA) in
collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development,
Department of Youth and Culture has begun a series of
motivational sessions that are geared towards promoting
national identity and heritage among Anguilla’s Youth. The
first in the series was held on 2nd April, 2008, at the
Stoney Ground Primary School Auditorium.
The session involved students from several of the islands
primary schools along with their parents and other
interested persons. At the session students were engaged in
a wide range of cultural activities. These activities
included the recital of original poems about Anguilla by
students, story telling and presentations about Anguilla’s
heritage, and an audio visual presentation. Presenters at
the workshop included Mrs. Patricia Adams, Reverend Dr.
Clifton Niles, Mr. Dwayne Adams and others,
In correspondence to school principals, Mrs. Bernice Fahie
Richardson, coordinator of the event reiterated, “We cannot
afford to lose this generation. Without national pride our
nation will be lost.” The Anguilla national Creative Arts
Association would like to thank all who supported the event
and encourage all persons to support future initiatives of
the organisation and all initiatives with a like minded
