Mr. Sheldon Brooks of North Valley was found guilty in the High Court  on Friday March 14, 2008 for the murder of 23-year-old Dwayne Connor of Rey Hill on Saturday, January 7 2006. Brooks was sentenced to life in prison.

On the morning of the 2006 murder, Brooks and Connor were together in the North Valley area when it was reported that both parities were shot by an unknown gunman without an apparent motive. Connor had suffered a gunshot wound in the chest and died 35 minutes later at the  Princess Alexandra Hospital, while Brooks had reported that he was shot in his right foot.

Connor was the father of 3-year old twin daughters at the time of his death.
