Announcement for the Position of Executive Director of the
Anguilla National Trust

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to
fill the post of Executive Director within the Anguilla
National Trust, British West Indies. Working with, and being
responsible to, the ANT Council, the Executive Director is
responsible for overseeing the operations of the
organisation, furthering its goals and objectives, and being
a strong voice on the island and in the region for
organisational sustainability and conservation of the
environment (natural and otherwise).
Key duties of the post include:
Developing policy and implementing practice for
sustainable organisational development;
Writing grant fundraising proposals and securing
funds for projects;
Creating membership extension and retention strategy
for the Trust;
Representing the Anguilla National Trust and
Anguilla at relevant national, regional and
international fora, committees, and workshops;
Developing and implementing media strategies to
facilitate public awareness of Trust activities;
Advising the Government of Anguilla regarding the
sustainable development of Small Island Developing
States;
Providing institutional support for civil society
participation in sustainable development;
Providing oversight and ensuring accountability in
project and organisational management;
Facilitating, overseeing, and supporting in-field
research and work;
Managing and supporting all ANT staff;
Providing training and consultancy services for
organisational capacity-building in Anguilla;
Editing all Anguilla National Trust publications;
Assisting in the implementation and review of
Anguilla’s National Environmental Management Strategy (NEMS);
and
Performing any and/or all reasonable tasks assigned
by the Trust Council.
Qualifications and Abilities
Prospective applicants should have at least five years
experience in a similar position OR possess a university
degree with a minimum of two years experience in
organisational development, resource management, coastal
management, natural and environmental sciences,
planning, and/or related field. Applicants should be
proficient in basic PC office software, must possess
strong organisational skills, be attentive to detail,
and have strong oral and written communication skills.
Applicants should have previous experience writing and
implementing project proposals including project
budgets. Applicants must be able to work independently
as well as be able to foster working relationships with
other government and non-government agencies.
Salary
Salary for the post is commensurate with qualifications
and experience. The ANT offers a comprehensive benefits
package including health and dental benefits, holidays,
and paid vacation.
