March 07, 2008: A 26-year-old man from Anguilla, was found guilty on Wednesday March 05, 2008 by a court in St. Maarten of the rape of a mentally ill 12-year-old boy. The rapist (SRR) who was himself abused when he was a child, admitted that he had raped the boy who had been sleeping in the house where he was staying in St. Maarten on August 27, 2007. He was sentenced to 55 months, 20 of which were suspended with an additional 3 years probation. The sentence equates to one month shy of 3 years in prison.
