(The Valley Anguilla) March 06, 2008: Following a long period of hibernation, the Primary School Science fair is
back! This long awaited event is slated for 25th-26th March 2008 at the
Teachers Resource Center auditorium in The Valley. Students and teachers from
the six public Primary Schools have been working diligently all term to ensure
this event comes to fruition.
Twenty eight or more science projects are anticipated to be displayed
to the general public during the fair. It is expected that some projects shown,
will be based on the curriculum while others will divert.
According to the organizers, the main objective of the Science Fair is to
generate interest in the field of science in all pupils. This view is also
shared by Mr. Curt Harris, this year's fair sponsor. Harris believes the
development of scientists is necessary to help find solutions to some of the
problems the global society faces.
This years science fair is of great interest to the pupils. The Morris
Vanterpool Primary School has been the dominant institution during previous
fairs, through the sage leadership of Teacher Ingrid Fullington. Other schools
are however working extra hard to display their own scientific prowess in this
2008 event.
