27, 2008: A 52-year old Canadian citizen, identified as
Mr. T.L.J. died suddenly on Prickly Pier Cay, on the
afternoon of Tuesday February 26, 2008. The victim, who was
vacationing in neighboring St. Maarten, was on a day
trip with his family aboard a chartered yacht to the popular
cay on the North Western coastline of Anguilla.
It was reported that while snorkeling, he developed
difficulties, was assisted but died shortly thereafter.
According to officials, at about 12:25 p.m. the Royal
Anguilla Police Force - Marine and CID officers, a
Medical Doctor and the Coroner responded to a report of a
sudden death on Prickly Pier Cay. The victim was examined by
Dr. Coffie and pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m.. The Coroner
directed that the body be transferred to the Two Sons
funeral home to await an autopsy.
Police say they have conducted interviews with some
witnesses and are continuing their investigations. |
