Reggae Greats Come Together In Anguilla For Moonsplash 2008
BANKIE BANX TO HOST ANNUAL FOOD, FUN AND TUNE FEST
FEATURING Steel Pulse, Tarrus Riley, MASUD SADIKI, ONE
WHITE CHIC…AND surprise ARTISTS
NEW YORK, NY, February 2008 --- Some of the biggest
names and brightest stars in reggae will converge on
Anguilla once again when Moonsplash 2008 hits the beach for
another weekend of good times and great music. The 18th
annual event is set for March 27 - 30, 2008 and will be
hosted by Anguilla's own musical ambassador Bankie Banx at
his ultra-funky Dune Preserve beach club and concert venue
on the shores of Rendezvous Bay.
Themed " The Best Keep Coming" to mark the incredible talent
that has performed over the years, reggae fans will be
treated to a combination of talented artists in an
unforgettable setting all under the glorious light of an
Anguillian full moon. Once again, Bankie Banx has assembled
an extraordinary lineup of performers to join him and his
All Star Band, including reggae greats Steel Pulse, Tarrus
Riley, Masud Sadiki, One White Chic…and perhaps a surprise
or two.
The festival kicks off with a cocktail party on Thursday
evening, March 27th and includes two nights of seaside
concerts at Dune Preserve on Friday, March 28 and Saturday,
March 29. The weekend caps off with a grand beach party
open to the public at the Dune Preserve on Sunday, March 30
beginning at 12 noon. The beach party features local foods,
crafts and music.
One would be hard pressed to find a more picture perfect
concert venue in the entire Caribbean. An eclectic blend of
driftwood, fishing boats and brightly-painted platforms set
on one of the world's most beautiful beaches, the idyllic
setting is sure to be one of the festival stars as well.
The club is also known for Bankie's legendary cocktail
concoction "Dune Shine."
Bankie Banx is an acclaimed performer, impresario and
entrepreneur who brings boundless passion to everything he
touches. His stirring lyrics and soulful voice have carried
his own brand of classic reggae to delighted audiences in
live performances and acclaimed recordings including his
most recent release, Chariots of Steel.
