Valley, Anguilla – The Optimist Club of Anguilla is
encouraging Primary and Secondary school students under the
age of 19 years to participate in its annual essay contest.
Students are encouraged to write an essay on the phrase “Today’s
Choices Shape My Future” as part of the Optimist
International Essay Contest for 2008.
The Optimist Club will judge the local students’ essays,
based on the theme of “Today’s Choices Shape My Future,” and
determine the top winners. Winners will receive Cash Prizes
and a medallion, and the winning essay will be sent to the
district level. Essays will be judged at the district level,
and each district will send top entries to the international
level. College scholarships are available for top winners at
the district and international levels. The Club is proud to
report that an Anguillian Student –Senegal Carty- won the
local competition and the overall district level contest in
2007. |
