Background: The National Youth Ambassador
Corps is a component of the Department of Youth and Culture’s ONSTREAM
programme. ONSTREAM is a mainstreaming programme that seeks to
systematically integrate a youth perspective at all levels of the
development process. The Corps, will create a structured opportunity for
young people to participate in decision making through involvement on
committees, boards and other decision making for a; while at the same
time developing their capacity for leadership.
Volunteer Function
-
Represent the interests of young people at various
fora, nationally, regionally and internationally.

Research and document youth perspectives.

Serve as a consultant on youth perspectives for
policy makers and development agencies.

Educate young people about development issues
Criteria for Selection
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
-
Be between 16-28 years.

Have a history of active involvement in youth
organisations or youth work.
-
Have demonstrated leadership and communication
skills.
-
Be Computer literate.
-
Be able to commit for at least one year of service.
-
Be resident in Anguilla for at least two years.
-
Be motivated and flexible to attend a range of
activities locally, regionally/internationally.
-
Possess the ability to work independently or as part
of a team.
