44.1% of the
Visitors to the island during August 2007 were tourists
(Stay-Over Visitors), 13.9% higher than last year. According
to the statistical report, this figure is the largest
tourist arrivals for the last decade. The Average length
of stay for tourists was 7.9 days, nearly
identical to the 8.0 days reported in August 2006.
About 37% of the tourists stayed for 4 - 7 days, 8.6% spent
23 days or more while 22.1% spent between 8 and 15 days.
Anguilla's heavy reliance on American tourists was evident,
with 42.6% of all tourist during the
month originating in the
U.S.A. The Caribbean was a distant second
as the source of approximately 20% of the island's tourist.

clear indication of Anguilla's reliance on St.
Maarten as a transit point to Anguilla.
