13, 2007: The
40th edition of the West Indian American Day Carnival saw the coming alive of
Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn New York with the pulsating sounds and rhythms,
colour and splendour that represent the premier celebration of the Caribbean
Diaspora in New York City. Attending the parade was Mr John Benjamin Chairman,
of the Anguilla Carnival Committee.
In addition to attending the parade, Mr. Benjamin engaged in official
appointments with various parade officials including Ms. Yolanda Lezama-Clark
President of the West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA). Mr.
Benjamin also attended a breakfast event which heralded the start of the parade
with New York City dignitaries such as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg,
and New York State Congressman Charles Rangel. |
