September 13, 2007: Anguilla's Chief
minister has sent a message of congratulations to the newly elected Prime
Minister of Jamaica, Bruce Golding, and a message of condolence and assurance to
the newly installed Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Stephenson King.
“The task ahead is truly challenging but we are confident that your attainment
as Prime Minister of
Jamaica will inspire you to
excel and serve your country
with pride, dignity and
full competence”, Fleming's letter to Golding read. It went on to say, “We look forward to
your contribution towards
national, economic and regional
development.”
To St. Lucia, the Chief Minister extended heartfelt
condolences on behalf of the people of Anguilla to the
people of St. Lucia on the passing of Sir John Compton
stating that “His contribution to his people and the region
as a whole will always be in our minds as we strive to
further develop the way of life for our citizens”. He
assured King of the full support of the Government and
people of Anguilla during his tenure. “Be assured that
with God’s help, we have no doubt that you will provide the
strong, dynamic and prudent leadership that will bring
stability, economic prosperity and sustainable development
to St. Lucia,” Fleming said. |
