Anguilla performed masterfully |

(More Photos)
Anguilla under 13 (U-13) cricketers displayed poise and a
workman like attitude as they tangled with their ST. Martin/
ST. Maarten counterparts in a friendly match at the Webster
Park on Sunday 29th July 2007.
Aggressive fielding and constant communication were the
hallmarks of the Anguillan team. Batting first ST. Martin/
ST. Maarten was bowled out for 88 runs from 25 overs. A.
Jiwanano top scored with a knock of 15 runs and D. Beharry
who contributed 9 runs to the total ably assisted him. The
main wicket takers for Anguilla were H. Alfred with figures
of 3 overs for 22 runs, while taking 2 wickets, v. Hodge 2
overs, 4 runs for 2 wickets, R. Adams 4 overs, 8 runs and 2
wickets and K. Romney 2 overs 15 runs and snagging 2

The Anguillan

The main scorers for Anguilla were J. Coppin 23 runs, R.
Adams 18 runs, D. Adams 11runs and A. Rogers 10 runs. The
chief bowlers for ST. Martin/ ST. Maarten were A. Jiwanano
with figures of 3 overs for 13 runs while taking 1 wicket
and J.Hodge who bowled 1 over for 7 runs while taking 1
wicket.
The youngsters from both teams exhibited a lot of talent and
skill. Kudos must be extended to the coaches for working
with the young players. This is an ideal nursing ground for
both teams and it is hoped matches like this can occur more
frequently. Consequently special praise must be given to the
Royal Anguilla Police Service for the foresight of their
social outreach program and sponsoring this tournament.
Likewise Mr. Michel Fleming must also be mentioned as he has
worked diligently behind the scene to secure awards for both
junior and senior players.
