July 29,2007:
Ms Amber Woodley of Anguilla was crowned
Miss Ecstasy 2007 over eleven other beautiful ladies from throughout
the Caribbean who vied for Miss Ecstasy 2007 at the Landsome
Bowl Cultural Center, under a moonlit sky, on Saturday evening.
This was the 11th occurrence of the
ecstasy pageant, which has become
a highly anticipated event on the
island and an increasingly coveted title in the region.
Participating countries and contestants were:
Anguilla - Amber Woodley; Antigua - Samantha
Issac; Barbados - Jnana McClean, British Virgin
Islands - Deria Joseph, Curacao - Laureen
Angelista; Dominica - Sonilia LaVille; Dominican
Republic - Barbmi Dominguez; Grenada -
Crystal McLawrence; Jamaica - Machelle Clayton;
Puerto Rico - Mariely Rivera; St. Kitts - Violet
Williams; Trinidad - Sherve George.
As expected, the show progressed
very smoothly with the only unusual delay coming at the end
when even the judges may have found it difficult, as the
audience did, to select a winner from the array of talent,
beauty and intelligence displayed on stage throughout the
evening and into the post midnight hours.

In the end Amber Woodley of Anguilla (760pts) edged
out Crystal McLawrence of Grenada (741 pts) to claim
the title. Jnana McClean of Barbados
(716pts) claimed 2nd runner Up and 3rd runner up went to
Samantha Issac of Antigua (688pts).
Security was tight and Jason Lloyd (Gossip) and his band
provided entertainment in addition to two brief interludes by 4
Brazilian Dancers.
Susan Webster of SW Productions, a key organiser of the
pageant and a familiar face on previous shownights was absent.
According to an announcement made, she had to leave the
island unexpectedly earlier in the day due to an injury
sustained by her fiancé on the stage during final
preparations for the night's event.
A photo display will follow shortly.
