| Mr Percy Thomas in discussions with the "leader"
of the Indian Group at the WallBlake Airport |
July 15, 2007:
A handful of Indian Workers, were escorted to the
departure lounge of the Wall Blake International Airport
shortly after 1:00pm, Sunday July 15.
At least two plain clothed British police officers kept in close proximity to
the group in
addition to local Immigration officers. Mr. Percy Thomas and
Mr. Bankie Banks were also present at the airport to bid
farewell.
Included in the
departing group was an individual (photo left, red turban)
primarily responsible for sharing information with local
activists, sparking a series of highly publicized
demonstrations over the past weeks.
Reliable sources informed
www.anguillanews.com
that the individual was a social worker from India who had
embedded himself in the group. Unconfirmed information
from the same sources indicate that he was asked to leave
based on a medical report issued by a local doctor.
All actions are believed to have been taken subsequent to the strike activities. |
