The Valley, Anguilla; 02 July,
2007 – As Anguillans prepare for the Anguilla Summer
Festival 2007: Strictly Culture Driven, senior citizens will
take center stage for the Grand Parade of Troupes. Digicel
and the Capital Dreams Social Club have come together to
ensure that the island’s older and wiser citizens are able
to enjoy the celebrations in fine style.
On July 27 - the fourth Friday
of this month - world renowned, sensational and legendary
music ambassadors Byron Lee and the Dragonaires will perform
at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Center at 9 pm. Organizers of
this event anticipate a sold-out crowd, and intend to donate
a percentage of the proceeds towards a special senior
citizens’ tent scheduled to be in place for Friday August
10.

With the strategic placement
of this tent along the main carnival route, senior citizens
will be able to enjoy the parade of troupes, the pageantry
and the colours of Anguilla’s Summer Festival from an
exceptionally comfortable vantage point.
Since 2005, Digicel has been a
corporate sponsor of the Miriam Gumbs Senior Citizens Home.
Special invitations have been issued to members of this home
to take their seats among the many expected to come from
around the island.
