June 22, 2007: ANGUILLA--Cable &
Wireless (C&W) says it is increasing
the value that customers
receive through its
high speed Internet service
at no additional cost.
Cable and Wireless, Anguilla's longest serving telecommunications company
announced earlier this week that they have undertaken an initiative to
significantly increase the speed for all of their Broadband (ADSL) customers.
They are unveiling six new plans, with four of the plans being made available to
residential Broadband customers.
According to published reports, the "speed of the
lowest plan has been doubled and the speeds of the additional three plans have
been increased by up to 50 per cent. Customers will also have the option of
choosing 'no contract' plans". Complimenting the high speeds the business plans
will also now include a static IP address which will allow for the hosting of
web and e-mail servers.
The upgrades are being done without any
increase in cost to existing customers and are expected to yield efficiency
benefits for those who use high demand net services or multiple services
simultaneously such as video-on-demand, NetSpeak and large file downloads. According to the company the process began last week and about 75 per cent of
C&W customers have already been upgraded. |
