Anguilla, May 29, 2007 – Digicel is honored to assist
a local musician, Tyrone Richardson, with the procurement of
a new keyboard.
Well known by everyone in The Valley area if not the whole
of Anguilla, Tyrone has been playing the keyboard for the
past 22 years. Blind from birth, Tyrone started playing the
keyboard when he was just three years old. His teachers were
local guys in his village who realized he had talent and
took the time to nurture it.

One of his earliest sources of inspiration was the
Mussington Brothers whom he continues to enjoy listening to.
Playing the keyboard gives Tyrone real pleasure and he says
he plays almost every day for an hour or two.
“I’ve known Tyrone for many years and was always amazed at
his dexterity in a sighted world. When he approached Digicel
for assistance in obtaining the keyboard, there wasn’t any
hesitation,” commented Ms. Brooks, Country Manager for
Digicel. “We are honored that we were able to assist him in
this way.”
“Thanks to Digicel and especially to the Manager for the
sponsorship of the keyboard,” exclaimed Tyrone.
Tyrone’s goal is to provide entertainment in the local
hotels and resorts and he is looking forward to having that
opportunity one day.
When asked what words of encouragement would he offer for up
and coming musicians. He offered these words which are
applicable in any situation, “If you believe in it, you
should continue and you’ll reach far with it.”
And we at Digicel couldn’t agree more.
