Fun Day 2007 - Legal Fraternity Team wins Championship

2, 2007: Twelve teams battled for Fun Day
Athletic Supremacy on Tuesday May 1st at the Ronald Webster
Park, for Labour Day 2007.
This event created much excitement and serious competition
for many workers drawn from government institutions, the
private sector and the Hotel industry. When it was all over
the team representing the Legal fraternity captured the
Champion Trophy scoring 79 points, second went NBA 73
points, and third to Cuisinart Hotel with 65 points.
Cuisinart team also had much to celebrate when their manager
Stephane Zaharia captured first place in the 60 m dash for
the top managers’ race.

As usual the main event of the day was the tug-o-war in
which the Royal Anguilla Police Force over powered the Fire
Department in a very exciting stands off in the finals. The
other two trophies for the most discipline team and the
largest team went to Cap Juluca.
For the last fifteen years Fun Day has been organized by the
Anguilla Amateur Athletic Association as the main event for
Labour Day whereby workers can socialize as well as display
their athletic talent and perhaps relive some moments from
their past school days. Also this is a major fund raising
event by the association to help in the development of
athletics in Anguilla. |

The organizing committee would like to thank all
participating teams, and congratulate the winners in the
various areas, as well as the many enthusiastic spectators
who came out in large numbers to support their favorite
team.
