In response to public requests for more information, the Anguilla
Police Force held the first of what is expected to be
regular meetings with local press representatives. The
meeting was held on April 25 and several issues were
discussed by Deputy Commissioner Illidge Richardson and
Superintendent Rudolph Proctor.

It was reported that a number of suspects
were held for questioning but some have been released. Officials reiterated the
appeal for members of the public to come forward with any relevant information.

- February Traffic Fatality - Chezroy Desouza
Vehicle driver Sherlon Brooks has been charged with
reckless driving at a speed or in a manner that was dangerous and of causing the
death of Chezroy
Desouza. The matter is to go to High Court.

- February Murder of Elaine Phillips
It was reported that police are continuing their
investigative work and are awaiting the results of DNA
analysis.
Background:
On Thursday February 16, 2007, it was reported that two armed masked men shot
and killed Elaine Phillips, the cashier of Hide-away
grocery store in Little Dix. It was also reported that the bandits, dressed in
black, entered the small grocery store around closing
time and demanded money from the cashier before she was
shot. The owner of the store, Mr. Abraham Harrigan who
was also present was unharmed. The tragedy was the
first homicide of the year in Anguilla

May 3, 2007:
Mr Abraham Harrigan has been
charged with the murder of Elaine Philips.
