CCB
Announces Counterfeit Detection Training Program |
In
light of the recent reports of suspected counterfeit bills,
the Caribbean Commercial Bank (CCB) announces the launch of
its Counterfeit Detection Training program. This training
seminar was organized as part of its 30th Anniversary
Celebrations and was initially scheduled to commence June
19, 2007.
The program has now been brought forward and will initially
cover a four-week period, commencing Wednesday, May 9, 2007
and weekly thereafter with a class limit of 40 persons to
allow maximum interaction. Registration will be on a first
come, first serve basis and registration forms can be
collected at the Customer Service Desk at CCB Valley branch
or at the offices of the ECCB Headquarters at the Fairplay
Complex.
The 2-hour training program will cover Eastern Caribbean
Dollars, Euro and United States Dollars. Topics will include
history of the currencies, features of the currencies and
security features as well as tips on types of counterfeited
bills. This training program is being offered as a community
service and as such is free of cost.
Facilitators will include Mrs Vanessa Connor, Mr Andre
Richardson, Mr Hubert Carter and Mrs Kadian Brooks who all
have benefited from direct training by the Eastern Caribbean
Central Bank Currency Division and the US Secret Service.
Together they have 39 years experience in the banking
industry giving them the advantage of both a theoretical and
practical knowledge base.
As our economy continues to thrive, we need to equip
ourselves to ward off the associated risks. With this in
mind, CCB seeks every avenue to provide our customers and
associates with the tools to function efficiently at no
cost.
It is anticipated that this exposure will give business
owners and individuals alike the confidence to transact
business in all accepted currencies without fear of loss due
to acceptance of counterfeit. With this training, our
society will be able to retain confidence in our currencies.
