April 22, 2007: The Jesus Christ VIP’s (Vessels Ignited to Praise), a local Christian based interdenominational body, will be holding a “Creative Arts Extravaganza 2007” under the umbrella of the International Youth Rally, an event which consists of a  week of activities to be held from July 9th - 15th.

The “Creative Arts Extravaganza 2007” will feature a drama group called, "Sharpened Arrows” hailing out of the land of many rivers, Dominica. The featured drama which will be presented to the Anguillian community will be “Faces in the Crowd”.   The twenty-five member group is under the leadership of Matthew Auguiste, who is the teacher and instructor of the cast. The group has performed several drama presentations throughout the Caribbean islands, such as "Betray Betrayal" and "Born to Die" . While on Anguilla, the group will also address some of the concerns such as drug abuse and violence that we have been experiencing throughout our region and will also be conducting a free 'drama' workshop. 

It is the VIPs’ wish to replicate and exceed past successes. "We invite all believers to establish a partnership with us as we seek to ascertain a high quality of spiritual entertainment for our young people and the Anguillian community at large. "


About The Jesus Christ VIPS

The Jesus Christ VIP’s (Vessels Ignited to Praise) is a Christian based interdenominational body consisting of approximately twenty-five youngsters of Anguilla. The group VIP’s came into being on September 23rd 2003.  It was birthed through a vision given to Ms. Lisa Connor who desired to implement change in young lives through positive and wholesome Christian activities. The Jesus Christ VIP’s have hosted various gospel ministry and entertainment events, geared towards providing an avenue for spiritual enrichment and Christian togetherness. 

They have been engaged in a number of activities over the years and are responsible for the success of past events such as: prayer walks, car washes, interactive lectures on relationships and so on.  An exciting party boat ride in January 2004 is one long-to-be-remembered highlight of such activities. Field trips to St Kitts and neighbouring St Maarten for events such as Youth Convention and Y2k Music Fest are also memorable events in VIPs’ history.

In addition, the group has visited and encouraged persons residing at the Anguilla Senior Citizen’s Home.  Our biggest and most successful event to date, however, was the Sherwin Gardener concert, which was organized in collaboration with the local Teachers Union.
