Two
suspected criminals arrested then expelled from Anguilla.
|
March, 27, 2007: Joseph Armstrong (British) and
Myriam Bedjaoui (French) were expelled from Anguilla last
week under the Undesirable Persons Expulsion Act.
The two were arrested upon arrival in the island from St.
Martin in early March after local authorities were warned by
Dutch St. Maarten officials that the two British and French
nationals were suspected of using forged credit cards to
withdraw money from ATMs in St. Maarten.
The suspected criminals were found to have large sums of
money in their possession, were detained and charged in
Anguilla. They were remanded into custody on March 19, under
the suspicion that the money was obtained via criminal
means.
Both persons were subsequently expelled via court order from
the island. |
