Feb, 27, 2007: An American tourist,  Eric Reistetter, (early 40's)  drowned while swimming off the coast of Mead's Bay Anguilla on Thursday February 22, 2007.  According to eye witnesses, emergency responders and beachgoers tried fervently but in vain to revive the victim who had been swimming with his 14 year old son when he was apparently overpowered by a strong undertow.

Reistetter  was a Shipping Manager from New York where he was also well known as a baseball coach and umpire as well as a basket ball referee.
